Many foods are ‘superfoods’, and these help to boost your immune system. Fruit and vegetables are a big part of boosting our immune systems. All of the superfoods have properties that help to boost different parts of our bodies. For example:

• Citrus fruits and dark green vegetables are rich in vitamin C

• Probiotics help balance out the bacteria in your gut, boosting your immune system.

Overall, fruit and vegetables are the most significant foods to boost your immune system. By eating plenty of fruit and vegetables throughout the day, you will surely boost your immune system and help to fight infections.

Vitamin C

One of the best vitamins to help you get an active immune system is Vitamin C. It increases the white blood cells in our bodies that fight infections. Vitamin C is great to have after you have had a cold or been poorly.

Citrus fruits are particularly rich in vitamin C, and they are an easy ingredient to add to any meal. Many citrus fruits can help to boost your immune system. For example:

• Oranges

• Lemons

• Grapefruits

• Limes

Eating citrus fruits often is a great way to boost your immune system. The vitamin C in citrus fruits will develop an active immune system in your body!

Broccoli and spinach are also rich in vitamin C. To gain the most nutrients from these dark green vegetables, cook them as little as possible to not drain the nutrients from the vegetables. Spinach helps to fight infections with all its nutrients and vitamin C.

Turmeric/Ginger

Turmeric and ginger could make a big difference to your general health. They both fight joint inflammation, which can be a problem that affects anyone of any age. By eating turmeric and ginger from a young age, you could fight joint inflammation later in life.

Ginger fights sickness symptoms. Ginger tea is an excellent drink if you feel sick, and it is soothing for a sore throat. Its anti-inflammatory properties help boost an active immune system.

There is always medication for joint inflammation. However, if you can prevent it with your diet, why not? Eating the right foods can boost our immune system and prevent these problems rather than cure them. Feeding our bodies with natural foods boosts our immune system by putting healthy food in our bodies.

Probiotics

Probiotics are live cultures that help to balance out the bacteria in your gut. In other words, if you have had a stomach bug, probiotics can help restore the balance of bacteria in your gut. Probiotics can boost your immune system by exposing you to healthy bacteria.
